Show Senior Citizen Activities There are many activities coming up that should interest Senior Citizens of Davis County. ON MAY 8, the Utah Seniors Ball will be held in the Terrace Ballroom in Salt Lake City. Cost is $1.00 per person. The dance will go from 7: 30 to 10:30 p.m. A special Utah Symphony Orchestra performance will be held for the senior citizens on May 9th in the Salt Lake Tabernacle beginning at 4 p.m. THE MORNING of May 9 there will be a special Gover- nor's Conference on the aging at the Salt Palace. Older adults from all over the state will be in attendance. Governor Gover-nor Scott Matheson will respond re-spond to the mini-conference recommendations. Keynote speaker will be Dan Valentine, newspaper columnist. LUNCH TICKETS for the May 9th program can be purchased in advance at any of the centers. Cost is $1.00, reservations must be in by April 27. Transportation will be arranged. On May 3rd and 4th, there will be a tour to Jackpot, Nevada. The Lawrence Welk Hotsy Band will be playing the night of the 3rd. The cost is $14.50 per person. A DAY trip to Antelope Island is planned for May 19. Participants should bring a picnic or sack lunch. Donations Dona-tions for the transportation will be accepted. A May 24-25 trip to Elko, Nevada will cost $15.50 per person. A LONGER summer tour is planned for July 26 to 31st. The six days and five nights trip will cost $186.00 per person. per-son. The group will travel to South Dakota. Price of the tour includes meals and admission ad-mission to several activities including the Black Hills Passion Play. Interested people can receive more information from the Council on the Aging. Ag-ing. RESERVATIONS should be made now with a $50.00 deposit required. The balance of the money is due by June 20. To make reservations, call the Heritage Center - 773-7065. The Council on Aging will sponsor a Rose Bowl Parade Tour if there are enough interested. FINALLY, a workshop for professionals, senior citizens and future senior citizens will be held at the Utah State University in Logan on May 4. This workshop will explore resources and activities available to senior citizens. The ultimate purpose is to present new information and skills for seniors to take back to their homes and use in their lives.
