Greg has been transferred by his employer, Anderson Lumber Larry and Pam Richards and family, along with neighbor neigh-bor Catherine Landen, re-t"r"ed re-t"r"ed time to get the children back in school from two weeks in southern California visiting relatives, Disneyland, etc. . A"'x" zoning meeting was held Aug. 15 at the county courthouse regarding rezon-lng rezon-lng of the Linda Loma subdivision sub-division in Val Verda. A Valley Wide Special Interest fireside was held last week with speaker Robert Mcintosh who writes priesthood and Sunday School manuals. Next Sunday's fireside at the Regional Center features Norman Gale, a seminary teacher. Special Interest members will have a special treat during dur-ing September at the So. Davis Jr. High Seminary at 7 p.m. on Fridays. Subject of these lectures will be "Self Improvement Can Be Fun." Ned and Lillian Muna and family have returned from a week in El Cerrito, Calif, attending at-tending a family reunion. A great family musical, Val Verda Stake presents "Fiddler On The Roof" on Sept. 21, 22 and 23 at 7; 30 p.m.: in the Regional Center. Pre-i show entertainment of talented talent-ed families in the stake and family hobbies will be displayed in the foyer at 7 p.m. Fred and Nancy Ketcham had a busy summer. In late July they drove to Nanuet, New York for the wedding of their son Tom and Miss Jane Elizabeth Ball, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Ball of Nanuet. Tom is working on his Ph.D. in ceramics science at MIT in Cambridge, Mass. They will be living in Arling- tin, Mass. Traveling with Fred and Nancy were their daughter Jean Navarro and three-year-old grandson Carter from Sunnyvale, Calif After the wedding, the Ketchams drove to Milford, Ohio to visit with their son Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ketcham and family, Adam, 5 months and Paul, 6. Bill graduated from Weber State College this March and is employed by Federated Dept. Stores of Cincinnati as a computer analyst. Son Victor Ketcham has been working for the Duval Copper Co. in Kingman, Ariz, this summer, but will be back for his senior year at the University of Utah this fall. Congratulations to Delroy and Kaylinne Reed on their Aug. 4 wedding. Alma Farnsworth has received his call to the As-cuncion, As-cuncion, Paraguay LDS Mission. Alan and Teri Gren, 3062 So. Davis Blvd., are parents of a son born on Aug. 5. Attending the naming and blessing of Mel and Paige Hawley's seventh child, Robin, born on July 24 was the grandmother Beulah Bas-sett Bas-sett from Delta. The other children at 289 E. 3050 S. are Sherry, Bud, Ricky, Ginger, Mike and Chad. Sympathies to friends and families of two of our neighbors neigh-bors who died recently. Former Val Verdan John Kraczek lost his mother, Julia Kraczek and Gladys Van DeMerwe's mother, Edith Gold, died. Lisa and Michael Turpin had a very unexpected breakfast break-fast guest recently in the form of a runaway asphalt machine, as its many tons crashed into their beautiful dining room and settled in the dining room table. |
