Show taw TaDCi Now that the dust has lifted, it can clearly be seen that Bountiful High has survived another homecoming week, a very successful homecoming week at that. BEGINNING with various lunch time activities throughout Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the week started off on the right foot. "Cloth-hockey" and various eating contests were enjoyed by brave and squaw, alike. A bonfire held Wednesday night served as the "igniting flame" for the traditional Bountiful spirit to be witnessed wit-nessed during Friday's game. FRIDAY afternoon, one of the highlights of the year was held during 5th and 6th periods in the auditorium. The annual homecoming assembly, as-sembly, entertained an extremely large crowd as returning re-turning alumni officers performed per-formed their skits. That night, Ben Lomond invaded Bountiful's football stadium in an attempt to break a relatively new BHS tradition-winning homecoming homecom-ing games. However, the attempt at-tempt failed as the Braves tromped the Scots 28-13. THE EXPLOSIVE Bountiful Boun-tiful offense, which has been missing much of the year, was lead by Rich Welling, quarterback and offensive player of the game. Mark Dickerson, Bill Speaks, Tony Hill and Steve Haslam all added ad-ded to the impressive show. Defensive player of the week, Dave Mills, led an aggressive defense which kept the Scots under control most of. the night. Ben Lomond suffered it's initial regional defeat after defeating defeat-ing Viewmont, 20-1 the previous week. WITH THE win, the Braves now have a 1-1 regional record, along with Layton, Ben Lomond and Ogden. Clearfield is leading Region 2 .with a 2-0 mark, while Viewmont View-mont finds itself in the cellar r with an 0-2 record. ' Bountiful will take on the Ogden Tigers tonight at 7:30 on the Brave's field. With both teams having 1-1 regional records, the game is very crucial for each team, in order to stay in the regional race. SATURDAY night, several of the studentbody enjoyed "One More Time for the Good Times," the theme of the homecoming dance. The affair, af-fair, which was held in Bountiful's Boun-tiful's gym, was presided over by King Richard Welling and Queen Susie Willey. First attendants were Larry Prig-more Prig-more and Kim Bown, with Doug Angus and Jan Hill serving as second attendants. This past week the "newest" Braves, the Class of 79, had thier elections. Tuesday, Tues-day, the candidates presented their skits and speeches in an attempt to win the votes of their fellow classmen during an assembly held in the auditorium. audi-torium. Primary elections were held the same day, with the final decisions being made on Thursday. ELECTED AS president of the sophomores this year is John Luddington. He will be assisted by vice president Lori Goodrich. Performing the secretarial duties will be Diane Brown, while Kelly Crowther will serve as historian. his-torian. Sophomore boy's and girl's association representatives for the year will !e Alan Devereaux and Lynn Bennett, respectively. WITH THE sophomores getting into the action this week and the previous week's activities, the bountiful Braves continue to stay active and demonstrate--"The Power of the B." |
