Show OETfl To Continoe Community Action Program will continue to operate CETA, a winter work experience program, and not turn the administration over to the Davis School District. CARL Chappefl, CAP director, told commissioners the CAP board had decided CAP had "operated .the program before and knew how to operate it." Students in the CETA work experience program are trained in the skill center at Layton. At present Davis School District is also providing provid-ing job training in vocational skills to 15 students at the skill center. The district had suggested they take over the CETA work- experience program for low income students, which had been administered ad-ministered by CAP. MR. CHAPPELL said "after reviewing all aspects of the program," he had advised ad-vised the board the CETA program remain under the direction of CAP. The commission also approved the appointment of Diane Ruth Messner as assistant assis-tant CAP director. Miss Messner was a crew leader in the summer CAP program. , MR. CHAPPELL said Miss Messner was chosen from three final applicants. This list had been pared to three by the CAP administrative board. Twenty-eight had originally applied. |
