Show UiiiiGi! Hons UcgIi Mr. and Mrs. John Skeives and Mrs. Frank B. Muir attended at-tended a lunaheon held at the Hotel Utah on Oct. 27. This was a part of the United Nations Na-tions Week activities. The meeting was sponsored by the Utah United Nations with President Oren Nelson in charge. Boyer Jarvis was master of ceremonies. THE BALLROOM was filled with over two hundred delegates from many parts of the state of Utah. Entertainment Entertain-ment was provided by Robert Peterson who sang a solo, "The Impossible Dream," and Governor Scott Matheson introduced the guest speaker, who was Senator Frank Church of Idaho. Mr. Church spoke at great length on the SALT Two Treaty. He said the treaty is an important step to a safer and saner world. Mr. Church explained the treaty in words that the ordinary citizen could understand. He closed his talk by saying that the SALT Treaty, like the United Nations Na-tions could not be all things to all people, but the world is a better place because the United Nations and will be will be made better by passing pass-ing the SALT Treaty. SENATOR CHURCH answered ans-wered many questions during a question and answer period. He ended his remarks by saying, "1 know many of you have business to be attended to and so have I back in Washington." He was given a standing ovation and the meeting adjourned, blm |
