Show DANIEL POLLACK Free Master Class A tree Master Class and Pedagogy Session for all area piano teachers and music majors will be presented by Daniel Pollack, on Friday, Nov. 9 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and Saturday, Nov. 10, 9:30-11:30 a.m. THE SESSION will be held at the University of Utah, Union Building auditorium, Salt Lake City. The session Pedagogy Lecture title will be "Principles of Russian Piano Technique." Mr. Pollack first won international inter-national recognition as a prize winner at the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition Competi-tion in Moscow. . Time Magazine has proclaimed him as "one of the most gifted talents around, with a definite flair for the romantics." IN ADDITION to recordings released in the Soviet Union, Mr. Pollack has recorded for Artia, Melodia, and for Columbia Special Products. The master class and pedagogy session are part of an expanded program for piano teachers which has been developed by the National Na-tional Piano Foundation in order to promote keyboard studies, raise professional standards and teach broader musicianship. THE SESSIONS are part of the state convention of Utah Music Teachers Association. Utah artists who will be heard during the convention are Dr. Mildred Johnson, Utah State University, speaking on "Brahms, the Summation of an Age"; Ronald Richardson, Nephi School of Music, "Teaching Composition and Sightreading from the Very Beginning"; Lowell and Naomi Farr, University of Utah, "The French Art Song"; and Dianne Hardy, UMTA chairman for Group' Piano, "Group Piano: The Complete Preparation." Mr. Pollack is a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York, his teachers have included Rosina Lhevinne, Seidhofer, Kempff, Agosti and Kabos.
