Show Large Wedding arty Honors Newlyweds Mr.-and Mrs. C. H. Hansen welcomed some 400 guests to a wedding reception held Tuesday, June 8, in honor of their daughter, Beulah, and her husband, Ronald Backus. 3He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Backus of Spanish Fork. The couple were married June 8th, in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple, with Robert Burton performing per-forming the ceremony. They were accompanied by parents of Mr. Backus and his grandmother, Mrs. Adams. Mrs. Clifford Backus, aunt of the bride and cousin of the bridegroom, also accompanied them. Later in the evening the reception recep-tion was held in the Fourth ward chapel. The hall was beautifully decorated with peonies and roses. Parents of the - couple received the guests with LaMar Backus, brother of the bridegroom, acting as best man. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Jacobson, (Mrs. Jacobson being the former Donna Hansen, sister of the bride,) acted as couple in honor. Miss Ruth Perry was maid of honor and the following were bridesmaids: Mrs. Wells Halver-son, Halver-son, Mrs. Lyle Parks, Mrs. E. H. Fischer and Miss Grace Bradford. The bride was attired in a white tailored suit with a shaded pink and blue scarf at the neck. She wore a butterfly pin set to match her apparel. The guest3 enjoyed the delightful delight-ful program with William Johnson of Spanish Fork, acting as master of ceremonies. Musical numbers were furnished by the Trable- tones of which the bride was a member. Golden Hanson rendered a vocal solo as did Miss Marie Childs. Duane Mecham, Mrs. Robert Rob-ert Smith and Mrs. Clifford Backus Back-us offered two vocal numbers. Refreshments were served to guests with Mrs. Arthur Thorpe in charge. Mrs. Warren Perry was in charge of the many beautiful gifts with Mrs. William Johnson, Mary Lou Whiting, Elaine Ashcraft and Elizabeth Wight, assisting. |
