Show Couple United In Double-Fling Candlelight Rites In a beautiful candlelight ceremony cere-mony on Friday, March 11, Miss Dixie Ann Madsen, . daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. R. Madsen of Boise, Idaho, and Willis Dean Ak-elund, Ak-elund, son of Mr. and Mrs. Al-fonzo Al-fonzo Akelund of Vernal, exchanged ex-changed marriage vows. The double-ring ceremony took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Patry with profusions of yellow daffodils making a seasonal season-al setting for the affair. Bishop John L. Swenson of the Roosevelt ward officiated. Immediately following the wedding, wed-ding, the newlyweds were complimented com-plimented at a reception in the American Legion Hall, where wedding wed-ding bells and floral arrangements served as an attractive background. back-ground. For her wedding the bride selected se-lected a sky blue suit, accented with pink accessories and a pink carnation corsage. She was attended at-tended by Mrs. LaMar Holt of Miami, Arizona, as matron of honor, who was attired in an aqua blue knit suit and had a corsage of white carnations. Miss Carol Patry was maid of honor, wearing a navy blue suit and white carnation car-nation corsage. Little Nannette and Kay Poulsen Poul-sen were the flower girls, carrying carry-ing small baskets of daffpdils. Kay wore a blue and white party dress and Nannette a red and white frilly dress. Both wore white gloves and had daffodils in their hair. Assuming best man duties for the groom was Ferris Timothy of Roosevelt. The three-tiered wedding cake was derocated in pink and topped with a miniature bride and groom. Serving was under the direction of Mrs. Cylde Murray, Mrs. Lynn Poulsen, Mrs. Frank Griffin and Mrs. Patry. The ' gift room was in charge of Mrs. Fritz Hansen and Mrs. Merlin Fenn, assisted by Kay and Nannette Poulsen. The guest book signing was delegated to Miss Carol Car-ol Patry. Piano selections and the bridal march were played by Miss Marilyn Mari-lyn Anderson. After a brief honeymoon trip to Salt Lake City and surrounding places of interest, the young couple is making a home in Vernal. Ver-nal. The new bride graduated from the Miami High School in Miami, Arizona, and has been employed at the Safeway Store during the past year. Mr. Akelund attended Uintah High School, and has just ; -completed twenty-four months of service with the U. S. Army. Out-of-town guests attended the wedding and reception were Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Holt, of-Miami, Arizona, and Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hor-ace Gillman of Pleasant Grove. The new bride was honored at a shower in Springville recently, given by a group of her former school chums. |
