Show Marilyn Brighton Joins In Parade , Of Summer Brides; Wedding Bells For Janet Lindsay A wedding ceremony solemnized solem-nized in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple on Tuesday, August 18, united in marriage Miss Marilyn Mari-lyn Brighton, daughter o Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Brighton of Ballard, and Don L. Killian, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Killian, Kil-lian, Roosevelt. The newlyweds were complimented compli-mented at a wedding reception and dance last Friday night at the Ballard LDS Ward Chapel, with invitations issued to three hundred and twenty-five guests. The lovely brunette bride chose a white wedding gown, fashioned with a tight-fitting bodice of nylon lace and sheer net yoke and short lace sleeves. She wore matching lace gauntlets. gaunt-lets. The full skirt was of nylon net over taffeta and her fingertip finger-tip veil cascaded from a bonnet shaped tiara of lace and seed pearls. Her bouquet consisted of pale pink roses surrounded with white gladioli and pale pink net, and tied with pink velvet streamers. One of the bridesmaids, brides-maids, Miss Joanne Todd, caught the .bride's bouquet. In the receiving line with the bride and groom were her bridesmaids, Miss Todd, who chose a rust taffeta frock with full skirt and wore a corsage of pink and white gladioli, and Miss Eula Brighton, sister of the bride, who wore an afternoon after-noon dress of grey cotton and a pink rose corsage. Also in the receiving1 line were the best, man, John Benson and the newlyweds' parents. Mothers of both the bride and groom were attired in navy afternoon dresses and both had corsages of pink roses. In charge of the gift room were Miss Myrtle Collins and Miss JoAnn Angus. Serving was under the direction of Mrs. Jesse Hullinger, Mrs. Fred Cook, Mrs. Roy Anderson and Mrs. Marvin Kettle. The lace-covered table was centered with a tkree tiered pink and white wedding cake surrounded with silver leaves and pink rosebuds and topped with three bells and a miniature bride and groom. Bouquets of sweetpeas were at either end. Capably assuming master of ceremony duties was John Benson, Ben-son, who introduced the following follow-ing numbers: vocal trio, Janet Stevens, Janice Anderton and LeeRaye Drollinger; vocal solo, Ray Johnston; vocal solo, Janice Nielson, accompanied by Miss Todd; dance and song, Sally Oberhansley and Francis Ann Coltharp, accompanied by Mrs. Oberhansley; and a reading by Mrs. Bill Parrish. Guests enjoyed dancing to Buzz Larsen's orchestra. The bride and groom left this week for a brief honeymoon trip, after which they will make their home in Provo where Mr. Killian will attend the Brigham Young University. w MTN. HOME Of interest in this area is the news of the late summer wedding of Miss Janet Lindsay to' Mr. Eugene Suddreth on Wednesday, Aug. 19th, in Salt Lake City. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geddes Lindsay, of Mtn. Home, and Mr. Suddreth the son of Mr. and Mrs Fred Suddreth, of Wendell, Idaho. The new Mrs. Suddreth is a graduate of Altamont High School, graduating with the class of 1950. She has been employed em-ployed at the Deseret Book Co. in Salt Lake City for the past two years. The groom graduated from Kimberly High School, Kimberly, Idaho. He is engaged in farming in Idaho. The newlyweds were honored at a reception and dance Monday, Mon-day, August 24th at the Mtn. Home LDS ward chapel. |
