Show Rotary Club completes Scout Drive is o ',' The Cedar City Rotary Club has completed a very successful fund drive for the Boy Scouts of America. This years fund drive was responsible for collecting well over the goal of $6,000.00. This years fund drive was under the direction of Klloyd T. Marchant and vice chairman Steven D. Crowther. This is the 3lst year that the Cedar City Rotary Club has successfully suc-cessfully supported the scouting program. The funds thus collected are used for sustaining membership enrollment of boys in the Cedar Breaks District. Each Rotarian was asked Each Rotarian was asked to contact sleeted business' and friends of scouting' and ask them to purchase a Sustaining Membership with the '' Boy Scouts of America, Utah National Parks Council. Through their efforts and generous support of the community, the goal was reached. Those business' and friends of scouting who purchased a Century Membership ($100.00) will be recognized at the Cedar Breaks Annual District Recognition Banquet, on January 28, with a Century Membership Wallplaque. END CAMPAIGN. Robert Linford and John Froyd, representing the Cedar City Rotary Club, receive an aw aid from Willard Hansen, District Scout Supervisor, for their efforts in recent fund raising effort. With the help of the Rotary Club, and the sponsoring institutions (wards and other sponsoring institutions), in-stitutions), the Cedar Breaks District has raised the full amount assessed for each Ixiy in the whole district. This year the Cedar Breaks District has to raise $14,000.0(1 for salaries, office expenses, awards, camping expenses, newspapers and training of personnel. The budget is approved each year by a volunteer board of directors who decide each year what budget items will lie considered. We who live in the Cedar Breaks District should feel very good to have a fine program in our area, and we should show our appreciation ap-preciation to those who so generously contributed so much to this excellent organization. |
