These included James Maxwell and daughter, Helen, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Maxwell and son Thel. After an overnight stay in Paragonah the visitors departed for their various homes. Mr. Frank Lister entered the Dixie Medical Center on Dec. 12 and on the following day had surgery to have a new hip joint. He is reported to be improving in a sat isfactory manner. There will be an Open House held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening, Jan. 20th, to honor the retiring mayor and town board members: Ivan S. Robb, Kenneth G. Topham and Howard Topham. Everyone is invited to attend. PAR AGONAII - Ward Conference was held in Paragonah on Jan. 15 with the Stake Presidency Phillip Hanks, Carlisle i I u lot and Randolph Grimshaw in attendance along with High Councilman Hal Mitchell. Members of the Stake Sunday School Board attending at-tending Sunday School were Mr. and Mrs. Reed Orton, Mrs. Merna Mitchell, . Mrs. Carol Farnsworth and Mrs. Ruby Whicker. Some changes were made in the Ward organizations, Clark Lamoreaux was released as leader of the High Priests group to become an alternate High Councilman; Boyd Robinson was released from the Young Men's Mutual and was given the position to head the High Priests group, Antone Robinson and Sandy Borden were released from the Elders Quorum presidency and Mr. Borden was named head of the Young Men's Organization. Antone Robinson and Ardell Talbot as counselors. David Robinson was named Elders Quorum president with Sam Lister as a counselor. Your Paragonah correspondent expresses apologies for the absence of news in the last two issues of the paper. Due to an emergency she was out of town. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamoreaux traveled to Orem 911 Jan. 6 to spend a couple of days with son Robin and his family and then went on to Salt Lake City where Joe entered the LDS hospital on Sun. for corotid arteries cleaned out with one side of his neck being operated on the 10th and the other side on the 13th. He was able to return home on Tues. of last week and is making a satisfactory recovery. During the stay in Salt Lake City, Mrs. Lamoreaux was a guest at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Harris. Mr. James H. Anderson" was sufficiently recovered from his hernia surgery to be able to return from the Valley View Medical Center on Jan. 12. and has been convalescing at home. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund have had an exciting time the past two weeks. On Jan. 7 their daughter, Mrs. Gayle Halversen and three children of Woods Cross arrived here accompanied by Roene's sister, Mrs. Lucille Smolenski of Maryland and her daughter, Mrs. Stephanie Byington |
