Show Mayor attends Industrial mett Approximately 70 public officials including Cedar City M ayor Jack Sawyers, and industrial development representatives from throughout the state gathered at a luncheon meeting of the UTAH-IDEA (Industrial Development Executives Assocation) on January 20, 1978. "Knowing where to get information on industrial and economic development is important to stimulating growth in the rural areas of Utah," stated A. Kyle Bettilyon, President of Bettilyon, Inc., who is currently serving as President of the UTAH-IDEA organization. He emphasized em-phasized the goal of UTAH IDEA this year is to promote educational resources in all areas of the state. Newly elected public officials as well as those already in office were invited to attend the information session held at the Fort Douglas Officers Club in Salt Lake City. Mayors and councilmen, officials of chambers of commerce, and local development agencies from throughout the state attended. Topics of discussion were: Revenue Bonding by Nick Smith, Burrows Smith and Company ; Small Business Aid for Minorities by Carol Selby, representative from MEDCU (Minorities Economic Development Coalition of Utah) ; and an Overview of State Industrial Development Research and Resources was presented by Dale B. Carpenter, Director, Utah Industrial Development Develop-ment Division. |
