Show Pheasant And (nail Hunt Opens Saturday Shooting will open Saturday,"! Nov. 1 at 7 a.m. for the annual Pheasant and Quail hunt and will continue Sunday and Monday. Firing will cease Monday at 5:30 p.m. with an estimated 45,000 hunters having participated during dur-ing that time. With the pheasant population in Utah on the decrease generally, according to reports, hunters are hoping for good weather to assist them in digging out that wary rooster. Regulations governing the hunt this year are the same as last year, with a daily bag limit of three male pheasants and a possession pos-session limit of six male pheasants at any time. The quail bag limit daily is ten of either sex and 20 may be in possession after the first day of shooting. Hunters with hen pheasants found in their possession will be prosecuted to the limit of the law. Hunting hours for the three days will be from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Rifles or revolvers cannot can-not be used and shotgun pellets above number 2 size are prohibit- ' ed by law. i |
