Show J Guard Unit Plans To i Be Aired Friday Meeting of City Officials, Civic Club Leaders, i Other Interested Citizens Asked To Meet At Memorial Hall Club Room At 7 :30 P. M. A meeting is called for Friday evening, October 31, at 7:30 p.m., at Memorial hall, to talk over the new Armory and organization of a National Guard unit in p Springville. J. Y. Bearnson, chair- 3 man of the committee in charge of the project, will be in charge "rl of the meeting. "j The Springville city mayor, 'L members of the city council and representatives from . all civic clubs have been invited to be at - the meeting, as well as all others interested in the National Guard :" unit. A report will be made on j what has been done so far to se- cure a unit fori Springville and it ' is expected that the unit will be j started. Chairman Bearnson ex- 'jj plained that at least 10 men must S signed up as the beginning of ;3 the unit and the assistance of all organized groups in the city is -" being sought to assure the success of the Guard unit project. :'- It was nearly a year ago that work began to secure an Armory f- building . and a National Guard "nit established in Springville. J. i- f- Bearnson was appointed as i? general chairman of the commit-3, commit-3, and has been ably assisted by S- Maurice Anderson, Dave Friel and other public spirited citizens. The city, it was pointed out, has purchased a site for an Arm-r; Arm-r; ory building and plans are now in Washington, D.C. awaiting ap-1'' ap-1'' Proval for the proper authorities fr the building to be constructed on grounds east of the.
