Show Springville, Pleasant Grove Battle Here In Grid Finale Friday Game Starts At 2:30 P. M. and Will Be Memorial To Teammate Blaine Bird; Close and Exciting Game Is Anticipated The Springville Red Devils will climax tkeir football season here Friday afternoon at 2:30 with a Memorial flm, for their felow football teammate, Blaine Bird, the game will pit the Devils against the Pleasant Grove Vikings and promises to be another close and thrilling contest. Both students and the public will be charged an admission. Springville can place themselves them-selves next to the top in league standings with a win over the Pl-easant Grove club, which has lost only to the Lincoln league leaders. The game is the final tilt for the Red Devils. However, for the Pleasant Grove club, it may or may not be their final tussle, depending on whether or not they can defeat Springville and hope for a victory for Y high over Lincoln to give them a tie with Lincoln for the Region 3 honors. Devils Play Lincoln To 7 7 Tie . . . In one of the hardest played and surely the most spectacular game played this year, overshadowed only by the tragic death of center, Bird for the Red Devils, last Friday's Fri-day's contest provided spectators all the thrills and excitement of football. Springville scored against the undefeated Lincoln champs, in the first quarter and lacked four inches of having a first down on the Lincoln 4 yard line m the closing minutes of the game after Lincoln scored in the third period, of winning the game. Bird, Norton and the entire Red Devil squad played heads-up ball to keep the game on even terms. The tie game was a moral victory for the Springville eleven.
