Show Society Cultural Arts Club Special Meeting A special meeting of the Cultural Cul-tural Arts club was held on Wednesday evening of last week, at the home of Mrs. Margaret Miner. The time was spent working work-ing on the club project for the year, as well as visiting. A regular meeting of the club convened" at the home of Mrsv C. Owen Lambson, where Mrs. Ina Olsen of Provo gave an interesting interest-ing talk on her recent trip to South America. She also displayed a number of lovely souvenirs from that country. During the evening, also, Carol Jeanne Loveridge rendered ren-dered vocal solos, accompanied by Mrs. Lambson. A tasty luncheon was served by the hostess, who employed pretty autumn flowers to decorate the entertaining rooms. In addition to club members, four special guests, Mrs. Lois Nielson, Mrs. Helen Strong, Mrs. Alene Lambson Lamb-son and Mrs. Ina Olsen, were present. Grant School PTA Gives Social The Grant School PTA entertained enter-tained at a get-acquainted social on Tuesday evening, at the home of Mrs. Mary Sanford for the teachers and room mothers. The entertainment consisted of a well-given book review by Mrs. Erwin Sheffield on "The Miracle of The Bells," by Russell Janney. At the close of the party, tasty refreshments were served by the hostesses and the remainder of the evening was spent visiting and discussing various PTA problems. Junior Girls Conduct Rose Memrjersnip Fete The home of Miss Carol Jacob-sen Jacob-sen was the scene of an effective Rose Membership party for the Fourth ward Junior Girls and their mothers, Tuesday evening,, with their teachers, Mrs. Leona Wilson and Mrs. Nell Barton, assisting. as-sisting. Highlighting the party was the presentation of rose folders to girls of the class who had attained 100 percent membership. There was also a short program and Lynette Madsen presented the first year girls with the Junior pin. The rose ceremony, in which every girl participated, was concluded con-cluded by the tying of the roses into a bouquet, which was presented pre-sented to the YWMIA president, Mrs. Melba Harrison. Refreshments were served at the close of the entertainment to the following: Miss Donna Whitney, Whit-ney, Miss Eva Hill, Miss Joan Alleman, Miss Carol Jacobsen, Miss Kay Kendall, Miss Lynette Madsen, and their mothers. Beta Sigma PKi Hear Paper On Jewels An interesting meeting of the Beta Sigma Phi held at the' home of Mrs. LaRae Stewart, featured a paper on rare jewels given by Mrs. Maryn Jacobsen, who, also gave ' a number of interesting stories in connection with . her topic. During the evening, a project of wrapping Christmas gifts and selling Christmas cards as a means of raising funds, was discussed dis-cussed as well as other business including invitations to new pledgees Ruth Boyer and Donna Ivie. Lunch was served to Evelyn Reed, LaRae Stewart, Mary Mar-tindale, Mar-tindale, Dorothy Stewart, Maryn Jacobsen, Hannah Marie Day, Elaine Fletcher. |
