Show j Te Goblins'll Git You if You Don't Watch Out!' The calendar beckons. Hallowe'en is rounding the corner and with it comes the time for gay festivities, pumpkins and skeletons, donuts and cider and vandalism! Time was when Hallowe'en, way back in the ancient times of the Celts, that is, was the day called upon by Samhain, the Lord of Death, to gather up all his sinful little souls and in the forms of grim-lins, grim-lins, goblins, witches and spooks, send them on mis chievous and prankish errands. They swooped down on the towns and they raised cain. The good peo pie could only do one thing to help stave off the attack. They lit huge flaming torches in the hope that the brandishing flames would scare the trouble mongers away. ' Many years have passed since, and though we can't seem to remember the actual form the spooks and spirits took in those days, we certainly know what we are in for today. Comes Hallowe'en and we are besieged with the pranks of our own youngsters. They're out on. a vandalistic spree with no guidance and no cares. Gates are carried off, door mats disappear, windows and lights are broken, chalk marks make prominent sidewalk displays, doorbells clang all hours of the night such is generally the picture. Yes, the gremlins may no longer be here in for m, but they are here in the spirits of our juveniles. However, the wisdom and f orsightedness that has c ome to be synonomous with adulthood brings forth an approach to the problem that is far different fro m the flaming torch days. It's a hearty wholesome approach that will solve the prank problems and sti 11 help maintain the gayety and spirit that is Hal-'lowe'en. Hal-'lowe'en. "Celebrate Hallowe'en with a party!" becomes the cry. "More planned parties to help combat juvenile juven-ile delinquency" becomes the theme. Party planning is the simplest solution of all. Donut dunking games, musical chairs, pumpkins and skeletons can take up for the merriment side; while soft drinks, donuts and sandwiches can easily fulfill the gastronomical wants. And there it is a green lighte for youngsters a nd adults to join in food and funand partake in a happier, saner and safer holiday.
