Show March Draftees Leave For Two-year Hitch Wednesday Two young men from Cedar City and one from Pnrowan left for Salt Lake City Wednesday Wednes-day to begin military service under un-der the Selective Service Act. An-other An-other Iron County man will report re-port with the inductess from Juab County later In the month. Jimmy Jones of Cedar City and Lloyd A. Mortensen of Parowan, left for induction yesterday, and will be joined later by Gerald Eugene Laird of Cedar City who has transferred to Juab county for Induction. These three, together to-gether with two other who were granted postponements of induction, induc-tion, fill the March quota for men from Iron county. Charles Peterson was granted a 30-day postponement because of his employment, and Ronald Udell Green was granted postponement until the end of the present school terms. Another Cedar City man, Ro mer Scott, reported for induction under call from a Salt Lake County Induction board. Scott, a i son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott jof Cedar City, was registered in man Lounty. He bad been attending at-tending Brigham Young Unlver-slty Unlver-slty during the winter quarter after having been a student at the Branch Agricultural college during the fall quarter. He was ordered to report for induction when he dropped out of school at the end of the winter quarter at BYU. |
