Show IS COMING Extensive Preparations Made to Receive Leader of Salvation Army. Gen. William Booth, commander of the 'Salvation Army throughout the world, will arrive here probably Saturday Satur-day night accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. Booth-Tucker, Col. John Law ley; MaJ. Fred Cox, E. J. Hlgglns, Staff Capts. Lewis and Wright and Capt. Hester Demmes. The provincial staff of the Pacific coast will also be in the party. The members of this staff are Col. George French, Majs. R. Dubbin, S. Reed and H. Wood and Staff Capt Wood. Gen. Booth is making his annual tour of the country and Is on his way East from San Francisco. The party is traveling trav-eling In a private car, all the railroads in the country having given free transportation. trans-portation. , The local branch of the army is making ma-king extensive preparations for the reception re-ception of its distinguished guests and expects to have immense audiences at the lectures which will be delivered here by the visitors. Three meetings will be held Sunday in the Salt Lake Theater. The first will be at 11 o'clock. The second meeting will be at 3 o'clock at which Gen. Booth will lecture on "The Lessons of My Life," and the last will be at 8 o'clock In the evening. Gov. Wells will preside at this meeting. The vice-chairmen will be A. L. Thomas, A. C. Nelson, D. S. Murray, James Anderson, W. H. Bancroft, I. A. Benton, William M. Butler, But-ler, the Hon. C. C. Goodwin, William Igleheart, Perry Heath and Charles W. Penrose. |
