A meeting of the sub-committee appointed by the representatives of the canal companies was heli in the office of President Angus M. Cannon yesterday, yes-terday, and the final obstacles were overcome. over-come. The reportV)f thlj meeting will be presented pre-sented to the 'full committee tomorrow morning and, if ratlned. will go to the stockholders of the company for ratification. ratifica-tion. This committee consists of two representatives rep-resentatives from each canal company, with F. S. Richards, Col. E. F. Holmes and State Engineer A. F. Doremus. If the stockholders Indorse the report, the meeting will be completed, and Government Gov-ernment aid for the diversion of Strawberry Straw-berry creek waters in Utah lake will soon be secured. , The proposition advanced is to organize the Utah Lake Reservoir and Irrigation company, which- will absorb the North Jordan, South Jordan." East Jordan and Utah and Salt Lake Canal companies. The capitalization will be 1847.500. in 24,000 shares of preferred and 9900 shares of common stock. Each company will be entitled to 6000 shares of preferred stock, and the common stock will be divided pro rata between the companies. |
