Dawson of New Tork, as a Christmas gift, has made public the information that-his latest will and testament testa-ment will name as the heir to all his fortune an Indiana girl. The lucky legatee Is Miss Jessie Marie Vandlver, resident of Franklin, Ind. According to the advices ad-vices received in this city from Franklin, she is made Dawson's sole heir. Paul Raven! of Albany, N. T., is named as guardian.' -' llss Vandiver Is the daughter of parents whose fortune is already ample. She will receive, however," through Dawson's will, over $1,000,000 in money and, according to the enumeration of property, the following bequests besides: One thousand, acres of land in northeastern Maine, tw.o residences In New York cify and one In Boston; also a fine country house, with 20 Oacres, near Berlin, Ber-lin, Germany. , ' Miss Vandiver is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Vandlver of Franklin, and. is scarcely 19 years old. She is well known socially, and is also a musician. No explanation for Dawson's generous 'legacy that will supply a motive to his selecting Miss Vandiver as his sole' heir has been made apparent. According to the meager reports which Vandiver has authorized, however, it Is said, that he has many times before shown her much favor, but even with this, his recent action ac-tion was altogether unexpected. it |
