Davis was arrested Tuesday, In New York, where he is spending; the holidays, at the request of Mrs. John E. Burroughs, who charges him with complicity in the robbery of her flat, when $2000 worth of diamonds and Jew. elry were- stolen. '.' The robbery occurred December 9th, and Davis's friends here eaythat he did not leave Cambridge until December 24th. Mrs. Burroughs, who lives at 39 West Ninety-fifth street, eays that Davis, in company with several other young men, came to her house December Decem-ber 9th and wanted to hire a. room. While Davis engaged her In conversation, conversa-tion, she alleys, one of the others went to her room and, stole the diamonds and other property.
