Show Play to open "Little Mary Sunshine," Sun-shine," a musical melodrama in the old style tradition, will be presented at Parowan High School on Mar. 26, 27 and 28 at 8:15 p.m. Director Nancy Wilson and music director Steve Matheson have the cast hard at work getting the production ready. The story has all of the comic elements of the good old-fashioned melodramas. The Heroine, Little Mary (Carol Hanks), owner of the Colorado Inn, must find a way to pay the rent. Captain Big 'Jim' Warring (Wayne Moss) and an entire patrol of Colorado Forest Rangers come to her rescue. For comic relief the characters of the maid, Nancy Twinkle (Donnette Larsen), and Corporal Billy Jester (Todd Robinson) have been added to the script. Guests at Miss Mary's Inn include the Young ladies from Eastchester Finishing School: Nicole Barton, Jill Turner, Raquel Rowley, Jill Rowley, Sandra Adams, Ann Arnett, Debbie Wellik, Amber Johnson, Lori Robinson, Crystal Henderson, Collette Adams, Quinten Robinson and Kim Cutter. . Of course, the Forest Rangers are there too: John Rex, Raymond Allton, Bryan Ramboz and Todd Adams. A special guest at the Inn is Mademoiselle Ernestine Von Liebedich (Tresa Larsen) and General Oscar Fairfax (Tom Robinson). Just to add some color to the story, there are some Indians that live nearby: Chief Brown Bear (Dan Carter), Fleet Foot (Wallace Henderson) and Yellowfeathers (Tony Rasmussen and Mark Davis). "The show has been a lot of fun to work on so far, and we are looking forward to presenting this light-hearted comedy," stated Wilson. |
