Show SUSC VP resigns UO..I Conrad V. Hatch Conrad V. Hatch, SUSC vice president of academic affairs, has submitted his resignation from that post, effective at the end of the present academic year. "I've talked for a few years about going back to the classroom," said Hatch in announcing his resignation at Friday's SUSC Institutional Council meeting. "I've just waited for what I J felt was the appropriate time. I feel now is the appropriate time." The resigning academic vice president has asked to le released from that position to return to lull time teaching duties in the Department of Physical Sciences. Hatch taught chemistry at SUSC before assuming his administrative duties. Hatch, 58, a native of Koosharem, Utah, received degrees from Brunch Agricultural College, Brigham Young University and Oregon State Univer-sityin Univer-sityin chemistry, math and physics. He has been a lull professor at SUSC since 11, and served as chairman of the school's Physical Sciences Division from 1957 to 1966. He has been associated in varying capacities with the the Academic Affairs Af-fairs office since 1966, serving as the Vice President for Academic Affairs since 1970. Hatch has also been prominent in LDS Church activities, serving as the Cedar West Stake President and currently as a Regional Representative of the Twelve in the Cedar City area. The Institutional Council unanimously voted to have a resolution praising Hatch's work drafted and ready to be accepted by the Ixxly at its next meeting. |
