Show Police report thefts An estimated $2,800 worth of goods was reported stolen to the Cedar City Police Department over the weekend. According to Jerald F. Wylie, office furniture, an automobile, clothing, personal checks and a government check for (1,016 were stolen from lim on March 10 allegedly by a man he Ulowed to stay in his room at the Lunt Hotel. Wylie told Officer David Holm of the city police that his 1971 Buicis Electra, $1,100 worth of office furniture from a rented office space and assorted personal items from the hotel were noticed to be missing when Wylie returned to town from a trip on March 10. Police are not identifying iden-tifying at this time the man named by Wylie as the person responsible for the theft. According to Wylie, the man, as part of the theft, showed local businessmen a purported suicide note which Wylie was supposed to have written. The man added that he was trying to clear up Wylie's estate. Wylie denied having committed suicide and apparently left town after he reported the theft. |
