Show TURKEY TOTAL WILL FAR SURPASS OTHER YEARS IN BEAVER CO. The turkey raising project in Beaver county during 1932 will be much more extensive than in 1931, County Agent Lew Mar Price states. The turkey g-rowers throughout Beaver and Milford valleys are enthusiastic en-thusiastic over the outlook at the present time for turkey production during the coming seasons. Fully 1000 poults are expected to be shipped ship-ped into Beaver valley within the next few weeks. The number to be shipped into the Milford valley will probably reach the 2000 mark, Mr. Price said. Many first-class birds were selected select-ed before the Thanksgiving turkeys were marketed, to be held over for egg production this spring. Mr. Price states that several growers are planning to send eggs to hatcheries to be hatched. The hens will then lay a second cluth of eggs that will be hatched by them. Several thousand pouits will no doubt be hatched locally, Mr. Price states, and with the number that will be shipped in, the total will far surpass sur-pass the total of birds of other years. |
