Show I Coach Issues First Call for Ram Basketball Practice i Thirty-five men responded for I the first basketball practice on 'Monday called by Coach William I Jones at the high school. Al-! Al-! though the football season ended end-ed two weeks ago, the call for basketball was delayed until this week to give squad members a rest. Coach Jones will work with this squad until next Monday when it will be cut down to a more workable size. Included in Monday's turnout were five men from last year's first squad, Jim Harris, center; Melvin Mitchell and Jay Winter, forwards, and John Benson and Raynor Kaminska, guards. All of these men saw much action last year and will form a nucleus for this year's quintet. Several members of last year's B squad are also on hand, as are a large group of sophomores who were on the freshman team last season and who used to give the B squad plenty of competition in practice. Several of the boys on these groups are showing up very well and should be able to make the last year's regulars hustles to retain their starting assignments this year. I he rest of November will be spent in determining who will make the squad, and in getting ready for a series of practice games starting right after the |
