Show Hunters Are Urged To Return Deer Poll Cards Quickly Twenty-one thousand cards are now being sent to this year's deer hunters from the offices of the State Fish and Game department. depart-ment. These cards, when returned, re-turned, nlav a kev roll in deter mining the number of deer killed in each of the herd units of the state, the sex ratio of the kill, and the place of the kill. Such information is vitally important im-portant in this, the first year of the either sex deer law in Utah. Each sportsman receiving a card is urged by department spokesmen to fill it in accurately accurate-ly and return it promptly. A map of the state will accompany ac-company each card. This map will show herd location and number as well as canyons and areas by their correct names. They are included with the card to help the recipient positively land accurately give the place of kill. I Twenty thousand of these .cards must be returned on a vol- j untfiry basis. One thousand of' I the cards sent over the state will ' be followed up by a direct con-j tact from the state warden in j the district to which they are: sent. j Information sained from these' cards, plus actual field reports; and range counts, are the chief! factors in determining proper' ! management of the state's deerj herds. In no other way can the deer hunters benefit their chosen sport as in the accurate and! prompt return of these cards.
