Show D. L. Sargent Named To Sheep Assn. Board Professor D. L. Sargent, head of the biological science department depart-ment at the Branch Agricultural college, and a Cedar City livestock live-stock grower, was named a member of the board of directors of the newly formed Panama Sheep Breeders Association. The association was affected this week at Boise under the direction di-rection of the University of Idaho extensive service. Professor Sargent Sar-gent is the only Utah man on the board of directors. Panama sheep have been raised as a breed since 1913, originating in Idaho, but there' has been no association of Panama Pan-ama breeders until last week. Professor Sargent operates one of the few flocks In the area and has exhibited his Panama sheep, and selling outstanding breeding breed-ing stock for the past 12 years at the national ram sale, the Utah State Livestock show and the Southern Utah Livestock show. He exhibited the first prize and grand champion Panama Ram at the Southern Utah Livestock Live-stock show last year. |
