Show Alexander enters plea of guilty to manslaughter charge Lawience LeRoy Alexander, 15, Kingston, N.Y. pled guilty to a manslaughter charge, a second degree felony, on Monday, March 22 in the Fifth District Court, in connection with the shooting death of Duane Edward Schroer, 37, Sum-merfield, Sum-merfield, 111. The body of Schroer was found on October 21 near the Kanarraville interchange on I-15; I-15; the shooting occurred on September 14, 1975. The original charge of first-degree first-degree murder had been dropped according to Michael W. Park, Deputy Iron County Attorney. Maximum sentence possible is one to 15 years in the Utah State Prison and a fine of $10,000. J. ' Harlan Burns, Fifth District Judge, expects sentencing in about 10 days to two weeks. Alexander told Utah authorities that he was an escapee from a New York industrial in-dustrial school; he will be 16. on April 28. |
