Show Velma S; Hunter dies in St. George Velma Stapley Hunter, 79, of 182 North 100 East, Cedar City, died in the Dixie Hospital of causes incident to age March 20. Mrs. Hunter was born November 22, 1896 in Toquerville to James C. and Theresa McGee Stapley. She married Alexander Hunter November 16," 1943 in Parowan, Utah. Most of her life was spent in Cedar City where she worked for twenty-eight years for the Utah Parks at the Escalante Hotel. Member of LDS Church. Survivors include: Husband, Alex, Cedar City, one daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Donna) Petty of Salt Lake City. Two sisters Mrs. Calvin (Vivian) Pendleton, Bountiful and Mrs. Ray (Rilla) Smith of Salt Lake City. Two, grand children and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday March 24, 1976 at 1 p.m. in the LDS Twelfth Ward Chapel. Bishop Raymond Baker conducted, talks were given by Myrna Hansink and President Clemont Adams with music by Marilyn Prince, Mamie Eck. Lois McConnell and Elwin Armstrong. Interment was in the Cedar ' City Cemetery ynder the direction of Metcalf Southern Utah Mortuaries. |
