Show Scouts observe 60th anniversary The week of February 7-13 marks the 60th Anniversary of the nation's largest youth organization, or-ganization, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Anniversary has been observed with week-long week-long activities by the Cedar Breaks and Brian Head Dis- tricts of the Utah National Parks Council. Over 1000 Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Explorers and adult leaders in the two districts hav.e joined in a series of special events and cremonies to mark th occasion. Window displays have been prepared by the packs, troops, and posts and are displayed in many of the downtown store windows throughout the community, com-munity, displaying skills and achievements accomplished through the Scouting program. pro-gram. Among the highlights of the 60th Anniversary of Boy Scouts was the Skillaree for the Cedar Breaks District, held on the 11th and the Scout Circus and Funoree to be held in the Brian Head District Dis-trict Saturday, the 14th. The week's activities have been under the direction of the comping and activity committees of the districts with Robert H. Moss as chair- man in the Cedar Breaks District Dis-trict and Lowell Caldwell as chairman in the Brian Head District. They have been assisted as-sisted by Glenn Ostler, Scout Executive for the Southern Utah area. |
