Show Parade slated for Color Country event A spectacular Main Street Parade will be held in conjunction con-junction with the Southern Utah Utah (Color Country) Monday evening, Febrarury 23rd, it was announced today by Clint Perkins and Bob Brown, Co-Chairmen of the Cedar City Jaycees "Winter Classic" parade committee. The parade, scheduled to commence at 5:30 p. m., will feature nearly thirty marching march-ing and mobile entries, comprising com-prising five bands, twelve floats, four marching units, j and numerous winter sports exhibit entries, sponsored by community businesses, service ser-vice organizations, and college col-lege groups. The parade will run from 200 South Main, extending along the main business district dis-trict and will terminate at 400 North Main Street, a parade par-ade committee spokesman indicated. in-dicated. Parade spectators will be treated to a stunning array of beauties in the persons of Miss Utah, Miss Iron County, and all college Snow Queen contestants, who will ride on individual parade floats. Entries in the parade will be competing for cash prize awards to be given to the first, second and third place winners. The parade will be highlighted by the initial turning-on of Cedar City's newly installed Main Street lighting system. And Frosty-the-Snow-Man will be on hand to throw out candy to the children, concluded Perkins Per-kins and Brown. |
