During the Christmas holidays tho Greeks and Austrlans at Bingham havo been having a high old time, and as a consequence there has been quite a good deal of gunplay. Fortunately no one lias been hurt. The two deputy sheriffs went to Bingham Bing-ham Monday to learn who was doing tho shooting and to make some arrests. While they wero there Mellch went on a rampage, threatening to 6hoot a mine foreman. The oftlcers took him in charge and brought him to this city. It has boon quite a period of time slnco there wore so many rows and gunplays at Bingham as In tho past few days. Cheap liquor has flowed pretty freoly of late and with nearly every laborer at the mines carrying a gun the lives of cIMzt-ns arc In danger at all times. The deputy sheriffs say that tho men get well tilled up with liquor and then, drawing their revolvers, begin firing promiscuously. pro-miscuously. That somebody has not been killed Is a wonder. It was only a short while ago that tho sheriffs mado a raid on the camp, taking tak-ing away rovolvers and knives from all tho men, but when another payday camo weapons wero tho first tilings bought. |
