Show USUAL MONDAY QUIET IN PRODUCE MARKETS i Fruit From California and Idaho Received by Dealers, However. Business was very quiet on the local produce market Monduy. and the dealers deal-ers on market row put in most of their tlmo straightening up things after the rush of la6t week. A consignment of fruit and vegetables was received from California, and also a shipment of Idaho apples put In an appearance Monday. The consignment of apples consisted mainly of tho Belle Flour variety and tho deal-era deal-era offered the fruit at 50 cents a peck. A supply of oranges and bananas wan included In the shipment from the Golden state. Tho former fruit the dealers offered of-fered at prices ranging from 25 cents to 40 cents a dozen, and tho latter at 20 cents to 25 cents a dozen. Tho prices of oranges aro now almost as low as they will become this season, say the dealers. The fruit is also fairly sweet now. The price of turkeys still holds out. Monday the bird sold at 27J cents a pound for tho bast variety. Some dealers offered of-fered turkeys as low as 22J cents a pound, but they were very small and of an Inferior In-ferior variety. Cranberries contlnuo at 15 cents r quart. |
