Bates, who has given the police no little trouble by. his pett3' thieving, was arraigned on a chargo of third degree de-gree burglary. It is alleged ho broke into' a Denver & Rio Grande .hox car on Deconibcr 23 and stolo clothing. Bates pleaded guilty and . the case was i set- for sentence on Wc'dne'sdaj". In default, of a $300 bond he was taken to tho count3' jail. Joseph Poder, charged with criminal ass'iult "upon a Mrs. Pickles, took tho timo allowed by law to ontcr- a plea. He was placed m the count3' jail under a bond of $10001 T. R03' Armstrong, 'tho negro who shot another colored mau named Isadore Baptistc sovoral weeks ago during a drunken row in the Empire rooming house on WesL Temple slroot, had the cuso against him dismissed, as Baptislo camo to the court and testified that tho shooting was accidental and ho did j ' not caro to have the ense prosecuted.
