Show FINAL CHAPTER IX THE GILLM0R DIVORCE CASE There was filed for record in the county recorder's office Monday a deed conveyinc 266 acres of land from Charles Gillmor to Sarah Gilhnor, his wife. Mr. Gillmor brought an action against Mrs. Gillmor recently for divorce di-vorce on the grounds of desertion. Mrs. Gillmor filed an answer and cross-complaint and counter-claim, admitting that she had not lived with Mr. Gillmor for more than a year, and setting up c melt j ns her reason for not living with him. Mrs. Gillmor stated that she could not live with the defendant, and asked for alimony, attorney's fees and separate sepa-rate maintenance. While the suit was ponding, and after the court had ordered temporary alimony nnd attorney's fees to be paid by Mr. Gillmor to Mrs. Gillmor, Mrs, Gillmor accepted, in lieu of separaln maintenance, tho 266 acres of land and an amount of money, the nionej' und land amounting in all to about $7000 to $S000 in value. This amount, it is claimed, was equal to nt least one-half of all the property Mr. Gillmor owned. Mr. Gillmor was granted a divorce upon the grounds of desertion without opposition oppo-sition on the part of Mrs. Gillmor. |
