Show Utah Wells Successful, Report Shows Three exploratory wells in Utah might possibly be producers pro-ducers according to word received by Carlton Stowe, spokesman for the Department Depart-ment of Natural Resources. Pacific Transmission Supply Company ran production casing cas-ing to 8,965 feet at their No. 23-25 PTS-Federal, a Mesa-verde Mesa-verde formation test in Uintah Uin-tah County. It was drilled to 9,282 feet, total depth. . . While drilling, a test was run from 8,924 to 65 feet which yielded gas cut mud, gas and water cut mud and some gas cut water. Tests are to be commenced at total depth, shortly. The well is three and a half miles southwest of the Greater Great-er Red Wash field where production is from three separate sep-arate formations: the Wasatch, Wa-satch, Green River and Mesa-verde. Mesa-verde. The town of Jensen is about 19 miles to the north. In Grand County, Stowe says that Eugene Hunt, Lew-iston, Lew-iston, Montana, ran casing to 1,175 feet at his No. 1 State well, a Morrison formation test well a mile and three quarters south of oil production produc-tion in the Cisco area. Mr. Hunt drilled the well to 1,500 feet and will begin tests in the near future. The town of Cisco is three miles to the north-, east. St. Croix Exploration, St. Paul, Minnesota, reports five and a half inch pipe set to total depth of 205 feet after oil shows were recovered at the No. 1 Utah-State some 35 miles east-northeast of the Last Chance gas field and about the same distance south east of the town of Emery. Oil was recovered from the Moss-back Moss-back sandstone. A second well is scheduled in the general area by the operator. |
