Show CB Club Here I Elects Officers Hy V. P. McArthur Meeting in the court room 0 he county court house, the Canyonland CB ers, Inst Saturday Sat-urday night elected officers for the year. Acting in his position as Vice President. Bob Southards conducted the meeting with the help of his wife, acting as hostess. Richard Saunders was elected elec-ted President with Rob Southards South-ards retaining his seat as Vice President. Mrs. Roy (Letty) Ricks will take over as both Secretary and Treasurer. Rill ! Conner retained his sent as Chairman of the Roard and will be assisted by two new Board members, Russel Dunn and Betty Lumbardie. Michael J. Hardy appeared, asking for volunteers to assist in helping form a local : REACT club. The volunteers ; will divide time monitoring the emergency channel 9 to i nid anyone in trouble who J uses the channel. The dues for k the volunteers nre set at $2 f yearly. I Hetty Lumbardie spoke of ' her plans for a C.R. Jamboree, I which she thought would en- . hance the image of tho club. I Tentatively the club plans to i hold the jamboree on a Sun- day afternoon at the Lions i Park, after the four-wheel ' drive Campout on September 4. At present a dance is ' planned as well as a barbecue. Coffee and orange juice were served as refreshments I and it was decided to hold a i meeting once a month, on the last Saturday night of each month. The next scheduled I meeting will be held at the j bowling alley April 30 at 7 ' p.m. The board will meet I April 23, a week before the regular meeting. Talk was held about honor- , ing a CR-er each month who has done something outstand- j ing in his or her use of the 2-way radio. j |
