The long and loose coats are deservedly favorites fnr dressy wear, for in their present stage of elaboration 'they present a decidedly grande tenue appearance ap-pearance In themselves; and, in addition, they are so oonstructed that they may be worn over the f Ussiest of frocks and' sleeves, and so loose are they they will not crush or crumple a single item o'f fhe gown. A chiffon broadcloth broad-cloth makes the body of the garment, the color a pearly gray, and two kinds of lace, silk niching and embroidered t urquolse velvet are called upon for trimmings and combined with the most artistic effect. There Is a round yoke over the shoulders incrusted with lace and velvet, and to this the coat Is applied ap-plied in deep folds,, the lapover of velve t ending below the bust and finished with a cravat" of net lace. Rather a coa rse cluny Is UFed for banding, each edge defined with ruchings, and is applied ar ound the edge of the coat, running up panelwlse on the side seams. The sleeve Is loose and full with a wide cuff of coarser lace having a frill of the fine 1 ace inserted In the back seam. |
