Show I A MILTON MTJSSER Captured by Jtcputy Marshal Sprague and Held for the Grand Jury A Milton Musser was encountered in front of the Deseret Bank about 10 oclock this morning by DeputyMarshal Sprague who called him into the Utah Central Office and read a warrant for his arrest issued by Judge McKay Musser accompanied the officer to Marshal Irelands Ire-lands office and was subsequently taken before Judge McKay where he wiaved examination and was placed under 1500 bonds to appear before the Grand Jury Geo Ottinger and S P Teasdel were accepted The complaint against Musser was filed with Commissioner McKay on January 31st and sworn to by Samuel Gilson Musser was absent from the city at the time but returned recently and gave the officers an opportunity to serve the warrant war-rant The complaint charges that between be-tween April 1 1882 and January 301885 i the defendant lived and cohabited with more than one woman towit with Mary Willa Musser Belinda Pratt and Annie S Miller As soon as Musser was arrested officers were dispatched to his residence in the First Ward with subpoenas for several members of the family They found the doors barred and the inmates refused them admission Upon learning that a forcible entry would be made Musser volunteered vol-unteered to go with the officers this afternoon after-noon and secure their admission Musser was at one time rather prominent promin-ent in church affitirs and was superintendent superin-tendent of the Deseret Telegraph Company Com-pany It is said that he is the His toricus correspondent of the News and has l devoted a considerable portion of his lifetime in trying to prove that Gentiles I committed a greater percentage of crime I than Mormons His case will probably be investigated by the Grand Jury immediately |
