Show Bountiful duo earns honors in state tennis SALT LAKE CITY Highland High won its sixth straight boys 4-A state tennis championship Saturday at Liberty Park, but a double team from Bountiful was able to share some of the glory. The second doubles team of Steve Jensen and Troy Fuller won its opening match with a 7-6 7-6 victory over the Hillcrest team of Collins and Shulsen. They then de feated Bonnville's Gardner and Bennett 6-2 4-6 6-3. But their hopes ended on Saturday Satur-day with a loss to Highland's team of T.J. Buxton and Matt Perkins, who eventually won the state title. Bountiful finished with three team points. Other locals who lost opening round matches were Chris Rams-dale Rams-dale of Davis in number one singles, sing-les, Jim Henderson of Davis in second singles, and Chris Anger of Bountiful in third singles. |
