Show VHS Madrigals to air concert Wed. The Viewmont High Madrigals will present their farewell 1 concert on Wednesday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the VHS auditorium. auditor-ium. The concert marks the finish of an exciting and successful year which came to a high point when the 24 singers spent a week touring and performing in Hawaii. The Madrigals were hosted by Franklin Institute of Honolulu and enjoyed exchange concerts with local colleges and private high schools. They also did public concerts at several locations including the Mikiki Ward on Easter Sunday. While on the island, the group toured Pearl Harbor and the Dole Pineapple factory and enjoyed cultural highlights such as the Al Harrington Harring-ton show and the Polynesian Cultural Center. During the school year, the Madrigals performed more than 50 times which included concerts in the Salt Lake Tabernacle, Assembly Hall and the Utah Music Educator's Association Convention in St. George. They have received superior ratings for seven consecutive years at State SoloEnsemble and are always enthusiastically received by audiences everywhere and invited back to perform again and again. Madrigal officers Lane Cheney, Stacie Smith, Lisa Rodgers, and Kelli Rencher and Director Jeanne McGuire would like to invite the public to attend the 10th annual Madrigal concert on May 20. Tickets are $2.50 per person and $10 per family. The 1978-88 Madrigals and Sound Ideas will be presented at the concert. |
