Show Water shortage forces conservation Water for the Centerville Pressure Irrigation System is in short supply due to low run-off in Centerville Canyon. Since 1983 water is being used in excess of the designed allotment. If pressure irrigation water is used at the same rate this year as it was used last year the system will be without sufficient water to operate by the end of July 1987. All users are urged to conserve now so that we may continue to deliver water throughout the irrigation season. The board of directors suggest that substantially less water be used. Repair all leaks in pipes, hoses and valves. Prevent waste by adjusting springlers away from walks and roadways. Water lawns and garden no more than twice weekly. Experiments by the Extension Exten-sion Service show that most lawns and plants do better with less frequent water applications. Encourage your neighbors to conserve con-serve when you observe overwatering practices. Your cooperation will be appreciated by the board of directors direc-tors so that additional restriction will not be necessary. |
