Show BHS concert band brings home third place trophy Cavalcade of Music in Colorado Springs hosted 124 groups and 65 concert bands May 9. Bountiful High band left by plane Thursday, May 7 and enjoyed a day of sightseeing sight-seeing and touring in Denver on May 8. Most of Saturday, May 9 was spent in practices, performances perform-ances and awards ceremonies. At a private award dinner band members and five chaperones enjoyed en-joyed a fun-filled dinner as each participant present received an appropriate award suited to that person. The group then moved to the cavalcade of music auditorium where Dave Hunt, the director, received re-ceived three superior ratings and a third place trophy. Dignified Mr. Hunt, wearing a grey satin tuxedo, planted a kiss of appreciation on the young woman's cheek who presented pre-sented the trophy then promptly leaped in the air waiving the trophy and clicked his heels to the delight and cheering of the band. The public is invited to the band's final concert at Bountiful High auditorium Tuesday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. |
