Show Davis girls finish fourth KAYSVILLE Davis High's girls track team finished third in the recently concluded Region Four track meet held last week at Highland High-land High School. The Lady Darts posted 96.S points but both Viewmont (the champion) and Woods Cross put more points on the board. The Vikings Vik-ings ended with 127.3 points and Woods Cross finished with 101. The Lady Darts saw a couple of outstanding performances come from both Stacey Field in the hurdles hur-dles and Lisa Schryver in the sprints and the long jump. Schryver, who plans on running track and field at Utah State next year, became the region champ in the 100 meters with a clocking of 12.83. She later won the 200 meters with a time of 26.23. In her third running event, Schryver placed fourth in the 400 meters. Schryver also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 16-4V4. Field also had a fine two-day meet. She won the 100-meter hurdles hur-dles in a time of 16.18 and later captured the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 44.86. Field was also a member of the winning 1600-meter relay team. Other members of that team included Kim McKean, Becky Rees, and Janet Brooks. In Stacey's fourth event of the day, she placed sixth in the high jump by going 4-8. Brooks, besides running in the mile relay, had a nice race in the 400 meters where she took third place. Jennifer Harward took third place by going 90-2Vi in the discus. . The medley relay team of Becky Rees, Tracey Pearson, Kim McKean and Books placed second at the meet. Others placers included Kim McKean (sixth in the 100 meters), Pearson (fifth in the 200 meters). Abbey Johnson (fifth in the 800 meters), Kristin Packer (sixth in the 800 meters), Heidi Olsen (sixth in the 3200 meters), Ginger Anderson Ander-son (sixth in the 100 meter hurdles and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles), hur-dles), Michele Marriott (sixth in the 300 meter hurdles. |
