Show Completes institute An official from Davis County has completed a County Officials Institute sponsored by the University Univer-sity of Utah Center for Public Affairs and Administration. Pauline McBride, county treasurer, attended the day-long session along with officials from several other Utah counties. The institute was held recently in Brigham City. Officials who attend three institutes insti-tutes within two calendar years are awarded "Certificates of Recognition" Recogni-tion" by the CPAA. During this year's institute, Keith Stroud, director of the Utah Division of Mental Helth , led a discussion dis-cussion on "Measuring Efficiency and Effectiveness of County Services." Ser-vices." Other presenters were Dr. J.D. Williams, professor of political science sci-ence at the U of U, who spoke about ab-out how politicians can make a difference dif-ference to their constituents. Jill Carter, of the CPAA, spoke in "Squeezing Blood Out of a Turnip: How to Motivate and Compensate Employees with Fewer Dollars." |
