Today the threat f unemployment doesn't bother his city, for a total of 1,950 jobs lave been created since 1943 lirough the activities of Jobs, Inc. ud incidentally, new industries have been brought into the city, credit for which is given Jobs, Inc. There are 100 stockholders in Jobs, Inc. Each invested $100 in 1943 to study job trends and employment em-ployment expansion. C. E. Meyers, chairman of the board of directors of Jobs, Inc., reported that there are 7,405 jobs in Albert Lea at present, 205 more than the goal set by the organization or-ganization in 1946. Meyers said it is expected that 7,lf)8 persons will be employed by the first of the year, and 7,743 by June 30, 1948. Albert Lea has an estimated population of 17,000.' It leads all other cities of comparable size in the per capita percentage of workers work-ers employed. |
