Show Utah Lions Present 80,000 Pounds Whetrt To 'Friendship Train' Utah's 80 Lions Clubs today purchased an 80,000 pound carload car-load of grain to be hooked onto the Friendship Train at Ogden, Mel Wright, governor of Lions District 28-A announced Thursday. Thurs-day. Mr. Wright said grain was purchased by voluntary contributions contrib-utions of Lions throughout the state. The contributions were secured in a 48-hour campaign directed by Mr. Wright and H. Alvah Fitzgerald of Ephraim, governor of district ZS-P,. The following is a copy of a telegram sent by Governor Wrieht to Drew Pearson, commentator com-mentator and columnist, Wash-; ington D. C, and Melvin Jones,' secretary-general Lions Inter-, national, Chicago, 111,: "As their contribution to I world peace 3500 Utah Lions 1 have joined in providing an 80.-000-pound car of wheat which will be hooked on to the 'Friendship 'Friend-ship Train'." Mr. Wright added that an impressive im-pressive program is being planned plan-ned for the presentation ceremonies cere-monies in Ogden, Monday. |
