May 22, 1947, the Holladay Lions met at the Olympus Jr. high school library for their monthly business meeting. Lions Don K. Archer and Hugh Nielson announce that a softball team composed of Holladay Holl-aday Lions is in the making. One practice was called this week. It is expected that this team will compete in an eight team inter-Lions club league. This means lots of fun and entertainment en-tertainment for all. Watch for future practice dates. I Thursday June the 12th, 1947, at 8 p. m., the annual election of the Holladay Lions club will be held at Andy's Dinners in Holladay. Holl-aday. This will be held in connection con-nection with our regular dinner meeting. Lion Hugh Nielson has reason to be proud these days as his sons, Bob and Gary, who are attending at-tending the Brown Military Academy in San Diego, Calif, are making excellent records in track this year. Bob captured the senior dashes and Gary the junior honors at the Holladay club fathers and sons outing held last year. The Brown Military Mili-tary Academy won the district track championship this year. Bob ran the 100 yard dash in 10:1 and placed in the regional championship track meet held in San Diego. He also ran on the championship relay team. He was the only junior to win his letter in track this year. Among his prize possessions are a gold |
